I recently finished reading “The Ragamuffin Gospel” by Brennan Manning.
It is one of those books that gently stays with you. Rather than trying to explain every idea, I would simply like to share the message that touched me most.
God’s way is surprisingly simple. It truly is!
We often resist God’s love because we struggle to believe that grace has already been given to us. Instead, we spend our days focusing on our shortcomings, our mistakes, and our sins. Somewhere deep inside, many of us still believe that we have to earn God’s love or fear His punishment.
Yes, we all have weaknesses. We all carry imperfections. But is it really worth spending our lives punishing ourselves?
Perhaps the greatest obstacle between us and God is not our brokenness, but our inability to accept that we are already loved.
We hold on to guilt.
We hold on to shame.
We hold on to old wounds.
And in doing so, we leave little room to experience the love that has always been there, here and now.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is simply let go.
Let go of the tension.
Let go of the need to be perfect.
Let go of the belief that you have to deserve love.
Let go. Let God.
Let God love you.
He loved you from the very beginning, long before you achieved anything. And He will continue to love you until your very last breath.
Trust in that love.
When you truly begin to believe that you are already accepted, already forgiven, and already loved, the impossible no longer seems impossible, and you begin to welcome miracles back into your life.

What would change in your life if you truly believed that you are already loved?
